I grew up in a vegetarian household where everything was made from scratch, which gave me the appreciation I have for slowness and DIY. A babysitter from my elementary school years allowed my siblings and I to make some “food” out of any ingredients we found in the kitchen, which were all miserable failures, but helped open up my curiosity for exploring. I have also been semi-regularly attending a weekly potluck for a couple years now, where I made a pie almost every time. Baking is my strength, and exploring new ideas is my interest and often my downfall. The double-split-layer brownie/raspberry pie, the oh-god-i-want-to-die-of-pleasure-shortly-to-die-of-pain butter infused peach cobbler, and the blueberry pancake cookies, all have yet to be perfected.
