Miniature Blueberry Pie
- Christopher, on August 5th, 2009
 A miniature feast
My brother told me once of nouns,
(people, places, things and such)
that being itty bitty sized
engenders “cute” (oh yes, by much!)
And so I made a little pie
Of blueberry and sugar sweet
My love and I will laugh and then
enjoy this microscopic treat.

 5 inch blueberry pie
crust:
1/2 cup flour (organic unbleached white)
3 tbsp butter , cut into tiny cubes
ice-cold water
filling:
1 cup organic blueberries
1/8 cup tapioca
3 tbsp sugar
mix the flour, butter, and enough water to hold it together. Roll the dough and put in pan. Mix the rest and place it in. Lattice dough on top. Cook 375 for 45 min.

What sort of pie pan did you use? An itty-bitty one, I presume.
So cute! I want an itty bitty pie!
Dan, it’s just a white ribbed ceramic thing. Sadly, the walls are very steep, which makes pie extraction difficult (I’m keeping my eyes out for a slanted walled 5″ pie plate). But on the plus side, you don’t have to extract pieces, you can just eat the whole thing out of the plate with a fork.
did you talk to it in baby talk while you gently pinched its crust?
I totally talked in baby talk, the main problem though is that i put talcum on the bottom, which did not taste good at all.
i love you feeding her after a hard day of nursing! wish i could get my hubby to cook–he will buy anything–not cook though. love the love you show your nurse!!! RN rule!
